Tune into Life

Did you know putting your palms together in prayer pose or "Anjali Mudra" is said to connect the left and right hemispheres of your brain? The benefits don't stop there...Meet the Energy of the day and tune into life with inspired intention to live from your higher self.

There are so many different "vehicles" we could choose to take in this life to connect with the Source of Life; many names and shapes and colors and cultures and rituals. The destination, or the intention is the same among these choices of transportation...connection to a Higher Consciousness.
Along the journey, some of the ways we choose to get there also do a great benefit to our body and the energy we are able to share through our life.

Whether you connect to the light of life through prayer, meditation, or chanting; through ritual, when we unite the light of our personal Body+Mind+Soul with that eternal Well of Light (Source Energy, Higher Power, God, Divinity, Universe, Goddess...etc) we acknowledge, with gratitude and reverence that the light within and all around us is the divine wisdom of pure awareness that animates everything into being. We go forward in our day, with deep knowing/feeling, "we are that light, and that light is all."

My Practice, My Power

Chanting from your navel/power center is an important element in Kundalini. This basically means find the place just below your belly button and activate it, in and up. Chinese medicine/acupuncture calls this anatomy the Hara, or the energetic Dan Tien. This is where life began for us and this part of our body still houses both anatomically and energetically the connection of channels and vessels for the entire body. Think of your umbilical cord, where the development of your life began, where you were first connected to life of Mother. This is a powerful space. It is important to cultivate strength and energy in this power center daily. Future posts will dive into how we develop this power further ;)

With prayer hands at heart center I breathe deep and chant "Ong Namo, Guru Dev Namo" 3x to start my daily movement ritual. This chant or mantra is used at the opening of Kundalini practice, referred to as Adi Mantra. This prayer ignites the light so we can go forward in the powerful work of cultivating our Prana, Our Chi, Our Life Force. It also activates Pineal & Pituitary glands through vibration automatically tuning us to higher consciousness. This is a practice of coming into your truth, your power, your divinity, your humility with the invitation of wisdom to move through you.

Through the study of Ayurveda I became more exposed to and curious of Kundalini Yoga. Yes, the one with people wearing white :) Kundalini is a powerful science of breath and body and energy. Wisdom Traditions tend to come well equipped with all the tools for using this vehicle of our body for the highest good. Kundalini can be intense, so I have been taking little bites and incorporating shorter doses of some of the most important exercises and Krias into my own practice.

This chant, this is where we begin.Every.Day.

Remember, my teacher says, "Consistency Creates Magnetism". If you can find your own rhythm and take on small habits/rituals that are manageable to do every day you will create a practice, and when its time, you will feel ready to expand with your practice, and you will add more, new, longer rituals to build greater strength and energy. This is where we trust our intuition and get to know our bodies, our minds, & our souls...
